The Faculty of Tourism is developing!!

Transition from 2 departments to 1 department 3 courses + Global program offering rewarding curriculum to study creative and practical tourism.

Wakayama University is the only national university offering a comprehensive curriculum ranging from bachelor to doctor courses. We constantly strive to develop the curriculum, aiming to establish the university as a tourism education hub in Japan, and a leader in world tourism education and research.

The keywords are ¡°Internationality and Interdisciplinarity¡¯. With a diversity of learning fields: Tourism Management, Regional Revitalisation and Tourism & Culture, The Faculty of Tourism aims to foster internationally capable graduates through the available Global Program.

New teaching staffs bring enhanced interdisciplinary study.

We provide a substantial support system with extremely favorable teacher-to-student ratios of ¡®1:4.4¡¯ per each grade.

3£©Satisfying learning opportunities offered in English

We increase the number of specialised subjects offered in English. International students from sophomors year can take courses all in English. Completion of Global Program is acknowledged depending on the credit points and the attained level of English certificate examinations £¨TOEIC/TOEFL£©.

The Center for Tourism Research, cooperating with other tourism research centers worldwide, supports the curriculum as a vital component.
