Developing the knowledge and ability to communicate the essence of Japan, including its traditional culture and arts.
We educate students to an advanced level of proficiency, fully appreciating and communicating the essence of Japanese culture and attaining competency in foreign languages. Classes are taught by experts in the traditional culture of Japan in fields such as the tea ceremony, flower arrangement, traditional arts and Kimono culture. With a particular focus via a number of perspectives including usage of honorific and polite Japanese as well as regional dialects, students are also put through a strict program on Japanese manners in order to study the correct way of using Japanese.

Integrated English Program(IEP)
Learning English - holistic integrated multiple tasks
Students can consolidate the English skills through subjects such as Current affairs, Tourism English, Reading, Writing and Presentation before moving onto more advanced subjects in tourism, environment, regional revitalisation, economics and management with an aim to achieve a proficiency level to work globally. Successful candidates will receive a certificate of achievement.

General and basic education that focuses on the liberal arts.
Our Faculty of Tourism provides general and basic education with a strong focus on liberal arts in order to foster individuals who can work in the tourism industry, which requires interaction between people. We offer a wide range of general education courses in the arts and sciences consistent with the comprehensive curriculum expected of a national university.

Advanced IT Education
A thorough education in IT based on the educational achievements of our Faculty of Systems Engineering.
The social changes brought about by advancements characterized by intensified use of IT have had a major impact also on the field of tourism. The advancement of computer information processing capabilities and the proliferation of the Internet have increased demands by customers and clients for the quantity, quality and speed of information. The Faculty of Tourism has made the acquisition of information processing capabilities one of its most important themes. As such, it places great value on providing a thorough education in IT based on the research and educational achievements of, primarily, the Faculty of Systems Engineering. The importance of information ethics is also one of the concepts incorporated into our IT education program.

A program that provides all students with internship experiences domestically and overseas.
Internships in places such as tourism companies, industry administration and local government present important opportunities to create and develop a career. The Faculty of Tourism features a program by which each and every student is provided internship experiences domestically or overseas for short or mid to long terms. Targets for English education are also set for overseas internships.
