Message from the Dean
The Dean, Nakamura Takayuki
This department, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025, has produced many outstanding human resources and disseminated its research results to the world.
The Faculty of Systems Engineering has long focused on education in information-related technologies, and since last year we have improved our curriculum to provide advanced specialized education based on basic and applied information technologies. This has created an educational environment that can accommodate both students who want to learn new engineering based on information technology and those who want to pursue information technology in greater depth. In addition, while maintaining the double major system that allows students to study multiple fields, which is a distinctive feature of the faculty, we have also made it possible for students to choose a six-year system that allows them to study seamlessly up to the two years of the master's program, so that they can acquire more advanced specialized knowledge and skills in a practical manner.
The School of Systems Engineering will continue to focus on creating an environment where students can cultivate the ability to think independently and put their ideas into practice. We intend to strengthen our ties with the local community and focus on developing human resources with the skills to be immediately effective in society.
The faculty and staff will work together to improve the quality of education and develop research. I hope that all of our students will pursue their own goals without fear of challenge.
